You've got to try this place. In Anderson, it it just off Murray avenue behind the old great escape bike shop. it looks a little suspect, but no worries...it is great place. for $5 you get a can of coke and 3 tacos - not taco bell style mind you - but the real enchilada.
The folks there are great, the food is amazing. You can be traditional in your selections of a bit more adventurous. The pork (pastor) and chirizo is my favorite. On special days they have tamales - excellent.
It is likely a place you don;t even see, much less stop by - but trust me is is wonderful.
they even have fruit sodas and right around the building is a Mexican market where you can buy real sugar coca-cola - shamwow!!!!
Lunch on Wednesday just set the table for a great day!!!
ponderings,thoughts, descriptions and stories of what/how God is teaching, growing and leading me.

Mother's Day Recap
I love Mother's Day. It gives me the excuse I don't need to love on and appreciate my mother. Sunday was great at Capstone - we had flowers for the moms, we shared in a parent-child dedication time (we will do it again this week because we had several who were sick or out of town), we talked about a famous (although you did not know her name - Jochebed - mother of Moses) and our worship was sincere. We are getting a handle on the new set up with the curtains and lighting - sorry about the a/c. last week it was a meat locker this week the sauna was in effect.--hand on we are working on it.
If you've missed a week of the new series 7-24: NOT for Your CONVENIENCE - you can listen online here.
This Sunday we will be launching out from the book Acts and dealing with how we handle things in our lives that are inconvenient.
Get ready for Memorial Day weekend - lots going on - outdoor worship, God Storytime, picnic (you bring some good food to share, there will be chicken!!!), also bring some non-perishable food items as we stock the food ministry (no cool name yet - you got an idea?) The the Capstone Field Day will follow food - lots of games to be played by all.
PS - VBS - June 20-24 - catch Ashleigh Hart for details, to sign up your kids or to volunteer.

city prayer today
Proverbs 3:3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Help me to trust you Lord with all of me, not trusting in myself or anything else. As I submit to you I know you will direct me in the paths I am to go.
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Lord let love and faithfulness never leave me, establish yourself in my heart. Allow me favor with you Lord and man, that I may be your witness.
Thank you Father - AMEN

LOVE GIVE SERVE
Word to the Church:
Capstone is a great family. I love this grand experiment called church; church is the chief vehicle through which God’s mission is launched upon this earth. Church tells the hope of Jesus, shows the hope of Jesus. Church gives us opportunities to love, give and serve. Church is family.
As family we get to celebrate. The past 3 weeks we have baptized 6 people, scene the completion (and beginnings) of several projects around the facility, had our largest Sunday attendance ever, welcomed dozens of new faces each week, have had very strong giving and initiated a new agenda with our grade school kids to find places of service on Sundays.
Sunday are great at Capstone because of the excellence of volunteers, I wanted to thank a few folks today for being great servants and great leaders. Greg Burkett – leads our Greeter/ Welcome team, Ann Marcie - leads the CafĂ© each week and Emily Vickery – leads Breakout for 4th-6th graders. You guys are awesome! Thank you!
These are examples of lives given to the cause of Christ with the idea that what they do makes a difference in the big picture of drawing people to Christ. Each of them gives freely to make the Sunday experience great. They love and give and serve because of what Christ has done in their lives. Thank you guys so much – Capstone is better because of you!
That leads me to ask – are you willing to step up? To love someone, to spend time with them, to make time for them in your life? To give to make a difference, give your time, give your energy, give your prayer, give your money to make an impact, to make a difference? To serve the littlest Capstoners, to serve the neighborhood, to serve with your skills to improve the facility?
Summer is fast approaching – You are invited to Love, Give and Serve like never before.
Opportunities:
Love
Capstone is beginning a food ministry – we are starting with a drive on Memorial Day weekend at our picnic – bring non-perishable items like peanut butter, rice, beans, can foods, noodles, etc.
Invite someone to church with you – to the picnic maybe? May 29
Give
Funds are needed to complete several projects including painting the worship space, adding a playground, repairing the steeple and sealing the parking lot.
Your time is essential as you give it to invest in a new generation – our kids. Make time to give your self as a volunteer at VBS – June 20-24.
Are you curious about Cuba ? Have you ever been on a mission trip? Give your self to this calling. Plans are in the works for a Cuba trip in October, an Alaska trip in September and possibly disaster relief trips to Alabama this summer.
Serve
Each summer we attempt to give our Imagination Station volunteers days off to rejuvenate. Consider a few Sundays to serve and love on our children. Sign ups soon!
More adults are needed in our Sunday elementary age groups – Velocity and Breakout. Willing hands and hearts are all that is needed.
Each month we have a men’s pancake breakfast followed by the power hour. One hour of work around the facility to improve, upgrade or fix. Mark it down – first Saturday at 8 am (you will be home by 10:30-ish).
Are you musical? Or techno-savvy – our worship planning and preparation could use you and your gifts: singing, playing and instrument or working behind the scene with technology.
Come on family – the time is now to Love, Give and Serve.
